​Smooth Oreo Dory is closely related to the zeidae or true dory family. It is also known as deep-sea dory, smooth oreo, or small-spined oreo. Smooth Oreo Dory is caught around the south of New Zealand at depths of between 700 and 1,100 m (2,300 to 3,600 feet).

The Smooth Dory fillets are large and white; they are firm and do not flake easily holding together well when cooked. Because of this, they are a versatile and suitable for most cooking methods. Delivered frozen.
